K10 Studio presents Casa Infinity, a contemporary concrete residence situated on Costa Rica‘s Pacific coast. This project seamlessly blends raw materials to create a modern tropical aesthetic, featuring an L-shaped infinity pool that merges the home’s interior with its natural surroundings. Casa Infinity is located in Guanacaste, on a hilltop surrounded by Teak trees with a subtle ocean view. The design vision aimed to integrate interior and exterior spaces, with the pool as the central axis surrounding the social areas.

The formal design consists of two distinct volumes: the front facing the street and the back facing the garden and ocean. The front volume, crafted from exposed concrete, provides privacy and serves as a grand, temple-like facade. Local artisans added a dynamic mosaic texture, while large Teak wood panels mark the entrance.

K10 Studio balances minimalist principles with tropical aesthetic

The use of exposed concrete as the primary material is balanced by wooden elements to create a ‘tropical’ feel. Textured concrete walls and ceilings add warmth and character, making the structure feel more alive and integrated with its environment. Prefabrication techniques ensured quality and efficiency in construction. At the back, a steel structure with local Teak slats for the ceiling creates a striking contrast. Tempered glass doors in the living area open onto terraces, blurring the lines between indoor and outdoor spaces. The infinity pool, featuring a bench for socializing, wraps around the first floor, enhancing the connection to the garden and ocean.

Casa Infinity emphasizes simplicity, sophistication, and high-end finishes. The Costa Rican architecture firm‘s design balances minimalist principles with tropical conditions, employing cross ventilation and solar control techniques to create a harmonious living environment that feels both inside and outside simultaneously.
