The event will take place at the Dubai World Trade Centre between January 11 to 13.
There will be cupping sessions at the BSCA stand on January 12 from midday local time onwards. The participation in the fair is part of the sectoral project "Brazil. The Coffee Nation", promoted by BSCA (Brazil Specialty Coffee Association) and ApexBrasil (Brazilian Trade and Investment Promotion Agency), that seeks to reinforce the quality of Brazilian beans worldwide.
Lais Faleiros from Eldorado Farm is one of the producers that exhibited her best specialty coffee samples at the fair last year. Faleiros has high expectations for this year's event. “It is a moment to talk with our customers and a good opportunity to meet new ones. But it is not just about doing business, but also a moment to present our brand, and show the quality and seriousness of Brazilian products, which end up bringing new customers and strengthening existing commercial relationships. In this region we already export to Dubai, Qatar and Abu-Dhabi.”
This opinion is also shared by Deyvid Leandro, a trader from coffee producer and exporter DBarbosa Coffee. “The fair is a very important moment to show and promote the quality and diversity of coffee profiles that Brazil can offer. We are looking forward to being at this year’s event. In 2021, we strengthened our partnerships and grew a lot in the Middle Eastern market, indeed, our exports to Dubai tripled.”
Brazil is the largest coffee producer and exporter in the world, there are 34 producing regions, with more than 150 varieties, with a sensory profile that goes beyond traditional sensorial notes such as chocolate, caramel and nuts. Dedication to quality and research into post-harvest processing methods such as anaerobic fermentation have yielded rare and exotic flavors and aromas including floral, passion fruit, blueberry, and wild strawberry preserves, as well as brilliant acidity and velvety body, among others that are considered unique.
WOC Dubai is the premier coffee trade show for exhibitors and visitors from the Middle East. The event welcomed more than 7,000 visitors last year. WOC Dubai includes Roaster Village, Lectures, Cupping Room, the UAE National Championship, Brew Bar, SCA Community Lounge, and stands with coffee display.
“Middle East is one of the most dynamic economic region in the world. And be part of that event is a huge opportunity to present Brazilian specialty coffees to the trade market and consumers.” Said Vinicius Estrela, BSCA’s executive director.
